Preceptor in Human and Evolutionary Biology


The Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University is seeking a Preceptor to organize and supervise laboratories for the undergraduate course, LS 2: Evolutionary Anatomy and Physiology (Fall semester), and for a second lab based class in the Spring semester in such as HEB 1210, Research in Comparative Biomechanics (Spring semester).Responsibilities:
Recruits, trains, and supervises TAs and TFs. Conducts demonstration laboratories for TAs and TFs. Maintains relationship with the Bok Center to provide training for TAs and TFs. Supervises student laboratory section sessions and reviews progress. Meets with students and TAs and TFs. Reviews grading issues not resolved by TAs and TFs. Acts as liaison between the instructional staff and laboratory support group. Reviews lab equipment needs and oversees purchasing and maintenance of core laboratory support components, ensuring maintentance of state-of-art teaching laboratory equipment.
Develops course website. Prepares laboratory manuals and other handouts. Works with faculty to design and implement new teaching laboratories. Assists in the assessment of labs and course.
