DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>CANCELLED: Julia Booms Memorial Lecture</strong></p><p><strong><a data-url="http://www.binghamton.edu/anthropology/people/faculty/david-sloan-wilson.html" href="http://www.binghamton.edu/anthropology/people/faculty/david-sloan-wilson.html" target="_blank" title="David Sloan Wilson">David Sloan Wilson</a></strong>, Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences and Anthropology, Binghampton University.<!--break--></p><p>The study of evolution in relation to human affairs lags behind the study of evolution in relation to biology by about a century, The statement "Nothing about X makes sense except in the light of evolution" is already commonplace for X=biology, is becoming acceptable for X=the academic study of humans, and remains mystifying and/or threatening X=public policy. I will provide an overview of these trends with a focus on public policy as the wise management of evolutionary processes.</p>
