Dr. B. Natterson-Horowitz is a cardiologist and evolutionary biologist who researches adaptations across the animal kingdom to find solutions to human health challenges. A faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Harvard's Department of Human Evolutionary Biology, she was the founding Chair of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Board on Animal Health Sciences, Conservation, and Research. She is a *New York Times*–bestselling, award-winning author (*Zoobiquity* and *Wildhood*) and a past president of the International Society for Evolution, Medicine and Public Health. She completed undergraduate and master's degrees at Harvard and went on to earn an M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology from UCLA.
