I am a Palaeolithic Archaeologist (DPhil Oxon), and my research focuses on how technology and biology inform one another on human evolutionary timescales. I am particularly interested in organic technologies, and how people used crafted forms to scaffold success in changing environmental and demographic landscapes. My research specialisms include bone tools, use-wear analysis, proteomics, ethnographic archaeology, experimental archaeology, and developing open source digital imaging techniques. I teach HEB 1245: Technology, Behaviour, and Human Evolution; ANTH S-1300: Human Evolution, HEB 2490: Issues in Human Evolution, and HEB 1384: Thinking Through Human Cognition.
