Dylan studies regulatory and functional DNA variation modulating development of the human musculoskeletal system, particularly postcranial joints. Through the integration of comparative, computational, and functional genomics, Dylan aims to identify variants putatively associated with musculoskeletal disease risk. In addition, Dylan has a keen interest in the molecular evolution and functions of both coding and non-coding genes that are uniquely present within human populations.
