Jenny Michlich is an incoming Ph.D. student in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University. They were formerly a Laboratory Technician in the Evolutionary Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University where they were studying the effects of domestication on the neuroendocrine systems of foxes. Previous to this, they were a Research Assistant in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh where they were working on a project related to the cortical control of the muscles of voice and breathing in a primate model. They are interested in autonomic-auditory-vocal-motor systems in birds and primates, neuroethology, interactions of neuromodulators and hormones in the peripheral and central auditory system, and the application of sensory neuroethology to the avian and hominid fossil record. They are currently working on collaborative projects related to quantitative phonology in animal communication and coauthoring a monograph on stability
and flexibility in behavioral and cognitive systems in mammals and birds as they relate to communication.
