Laura’s research integrates comparative functional morphology, biomechanics, and evolutionary modeling to study landmark functional transitions in primate forelimbs. In particular, Laura aims to characterize the evolution of the hominin forelimb from an appendage used during weight-bearing locomotor tasks to one exclusively engaged in manipulation.
